I was very brave getting this close to a spider, particularly since it's web was blowing around in the breeze. I took about 5 shots and I think I was lucky to get this one in such good focus! This guy by the way was only about 5 mm in diameter, so not much to rev up my arachniphobia. I like the distortion of the web on the far left of the photo. I think this effect may be due to the macro filter.
It was nice enjoying a little sun on this breezy September afternoon!

What do you think? Is it worth $35? Interesting to note the jpeg artifacts around the web in both versions.

Thanks for your input. I am honored to have the world expert on the Van Duzer spider comment on my photo blog. I believe if it really had been a Van Duzer spider I would not have escaped alive!
